There are two common issues in transformer specifications:

  • They often look the same, whether the transformer is a 400MVA 765kV power transformer or a 60MVA rectifier transformer.
  • The design prescriptions are too detailed, such as current density in winding conductors.

These two issues result in:

  • Giving too many (and sometimes contradicting) constraints to transformer OEMs, with consequent price increases that do not buy additional value for the user.
  • Missing some details specific to your transformer, which are important for transformer reliability.

Therefore, you can end up specifying a more expensive but less reliable transformer.

Rely on our transformer consultants to review your technical transformer specifications in order to get a cost-effective transformer without compromising reliability.
